story
Caixa Económica was created on May 18, 1928 under the name of "Caixa Económica Postal", integrated in the then "Correios e Telegráficos" services under the Ministry of Telecommunications.
On December 30, 1985, it was transformed into an autonomous financial institution, with the designation of "Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde", under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance.
From 1993 to 2000, Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde, had a substantial and visible growth, and quantitative and qualitative development, especially at the national level.
This development, reflected in deposits growth, credits granted, equity, etc., amongst other actions, widened the range of products and services, the Branch network introduced new ways of dealing with its clients and introduced modern and innovative IT solutions.
In 2012, Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde became the 1st Bank in Cabo Verde with international certification of Information Security Management System and Quality Management System in accordance with the international standards ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001:2015, respectively.
